'  ><div class='avia_textblock' ><p>Er wordt zo weinig over incontinentie gepraat, dat u wellicht het idee heeft dat u de enige bent die er mee te maken heeft. In werkelijkheid zijn er in Nederland ongeveer 1 miljoen mensen die dagelijks ongewild urine verliezen. En om het nog dichterbij te brengen: de meesten van deze Nederlanders hebben uw leeftijd, of zijn ouder. Het feit dat u waarschijnlijk meer mensen kent die ermee te maken hebben dan u denkt, geeft u wellicht al meer vertrouwen om er met uw dierbaren over te durven praten. Zij kunnen, met begrip voor uw situatie, dan ook uw urineverlies beter begrijpen.<\/p>\n<p>Ook Nadia kreeg met ongewild urineverlies te maken, en ook zij moest door de verschillende acceptatiefases heen. Van ontkenning, tot acceptatie door het vinden van een oplossing. Pas toen durfde en wilde zij er openlijk over praten met haar geliefden. Begrijpen wat incontinentie is en hoe het zoveel anderen ook raakt, is belangrijk. Dit helpt u om u zekerder te voelen wanneer u uitlegt wat u ervaart. Incontinentie kan een ongemakkelijk onderwerp zijn om over te praten, maar het is een heel gevoelig moment voor degene waar het over gaat. Het is belangrijk om het gesprek serieus te nemen en duidelijk te maken dat u uw dierbare steunt.<\/li>\n<li>Luister aandachtig en steun. U heeft misschien nog niet veel gehoord over incontinentie of hoeveel mannen en vrouwen er last van hebben. Zorg ervoor dat u goed luistert en sta klaar om te helpen en steunen wanneer dat nodig is.<\/li>\n<li>Het is geweldig om over dit onderwerp te praten en om zo het zelfvertrouwen van uw dierbare op te krikken en hem of haar gerust te stellen dat hij of zij niet alleen is. In mijn situatie: hoe beter Nadia zich voelt over zichzelf en haar lichaam, hoe zekerder en blijer zij wordt.
