Als de blaas zich vult met urine krijgt u bij een bepaalde hoeveelheid een seintje dat u moet plassen; u krijgt aandrang om te urineren. Als u op het toilet zit ontspant u de bekkenbodemspieren waardoor de blaas zich samentrekt en de urine het lichaam verlaat. Op het moment dat u ongewild urine verliest, loopt dit proces niet meer zoals u gewend was. Over het algemeen zien we de volgende situaties:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.depend.be\/nl\/stress-incontinentie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bij inspanning<\/a>: tijdens het hoesten, niezen, lachen, lopen etc.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.depend.be\/nl\/urge-incontinentie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bij aandrang:<\/a> de aandrang om te moeten plassen is plots heel sterk en het toilet kan niet op tijd bereikt worden.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.depend.be\/nl\/bedplassen-bij-volwassenen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tijdens\/vlak na de slaap:<\/a> het signaal om te moeten plassen komt niet of te laat waardoor iemand in bed plast of het toilet na ontwaken niet op tijd haalt.<\/li>\n<li>Een combinatie van deze situaties komt ook voor. Bij de eerste tekenen van ongewild urineverlies raden wij u aan om een afspraak met uw huisarts te maken. Bij beginnende vormen van incontinentie is de kans op vermindering of zelfs herstel van het ongewild verlies van urine erg groot. Uw huisarts kan u daarbij adviseren. Als u meer over urineverlies weet, vooruitdenkt en voorbereid bent, kunt u het met succes onder controle houden en zo uw levenskwaliteit verbeteren. Zo komt urineverlies voor bij <a href=\"\/mannen-en-urineverlies\">mannen<\/a> en <a href=\"\/urineverlies-bij-vrouwen\">vrouwen<\/a> en zijn de oorzaken vaak verschillend. In een enkel geval is er na de bevalling sprake van een tijdelijke of permanente vorm van incontinentie.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.depend.nl\/de-overgang-en-incontinentie\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bij het intreden van de overgang<\/a>.
