Bij mannen ontstaat inspanningsincontinentie eigenlijk alleen na een operatie waarbij de prostaat geheel is verwijderd. Deze aandrang kan niet worden onderdrukt en het plassen kan niet meer worden tegengehouden. Er treedt verlies van grote hoeveelheden urine op en als het toilet niet op tijd kan worden bereikt, wordt zelfs de hele blaas leeg geplast. Aandrangincontinentie komt zowel bij vrouwen als mannen voor. Deze vorm van urineverlies komt vaak voor in het kader van een \u2018overactieve blaas\u2019. Hiernaast is ook nog ongewild verlies van flatus(wind) al dan niet in combinatie met verlies van ontlasting. Ontlastingsincontinentie komt veel minder vaak voor dan urine-incontinentie maar vormt wel een grotere belasting in het dagelijks leven. Vrouwen hebben vaker last van incontinentie voor ontlasting dan mannen. Tussen de 30 en 80 jaar kampt maar liefst 1 op de 5 van hen met ongewenst verlies van urinedruppels na een bezoek aan het toilet. Het kan vari\u00ebren van 2 tot soms wel 12 keer op een dag. Op zich zelf hoeft dat geen aanleiding te zijn voor een probleem. Wij adviseren u als u last heeft van urineverlies om contact op te nemen met uw huisarts voor een juiste diagnose.<\/p>\n<p>Zodra u een redelijk idee heeft welke vorm van incontinentie u heeft kan u na gesprek met uw huisarts overgaan tot een <a href=\"\/nl\/behandelen-van-incontinentie\">behandelplan<\/a>.
